The CLC is thrilled to announce the six participants for the first edition of our (re)Charg(é) Mentorship Program:
Alexandra Gorlin-Crenshaw (QC)
Aline Homzy (ON)
Robyn Jacob (BC)
Patrick McGraw (ON)
Nicola Miller (NS)
Showan Tavakol (QC)
Each participant will receive a stipend of $300, a free one-year membership to the CLC, $750 to put towards a 1-on-1 mentorship of their design, and group professional development sessions tailored to the needs and interests of the cohort.
A jury consisting of Amy Brandon, Émilie Fortin, Maria-Eduarda Mendes Martins, and Parisa Sabet reviewed over 30 submissions, representing a diverse cross-section of artistic practice, gender, culture, career experience, aesthetic, and geography. August Murphy-King chaired the jury meeting.
(re)Charg(é) is a new program for composers or sound artists, at any point in their careers, who are not currently enrolled in an academic music training program, and who wish to re-energise their artistic practice through mentorship, peer support, or specific professional development goals. It is made possible through generous support from The Azrieli Foundation, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, the Osbertus Fund at the Vancouver Foundation, and SOCAN.
