The CLC currently has six active committees: Advocacy, Awards and Membership, Equity, Executive, ISCM, and Professional Development.
Advocacy
The Advocacy committee works to maintain safe, healthy and fair work practices for Canadian composers by publishing guidelines, conducting quantitative research, and reviewing domestic composition employment and opportunities. Their overall goal is to improve working conditions for Canadian composers and maintain healthy relationships with the music producers, funding bodies and institutions they work with.

Awards and Membership
The Awards and Membership committee addresses issues related to membership, including admission of new members, policies related to dues payments, and working to enhance the benefits available to CLC members. In addition, it is responsible for administering the annual Friends of Canadian Music Award.

Equity
The Equity Committee functions as an internal watchdog, ensuring the CLC upholds its values of accessibility, accountability, and transparency. We hope to help lead the Canadian community by example, following best practices as established by equity-focused organizations.

Executive
The Executive Committee is composed of the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Its responsibility is to ensure that the mission, vision and values of the organization are observed across all CLC activities. The committee oversees the administrative and operational aspects of the CLC, while ensuring the integrity of the strategic plan and budget on the strategic plan and budget.

ISCM Canadian Section
The CLC is home to the Canadian Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM), an international network of members from around fifty countries devoted to the promotion and presentation of contemporary music. Each year, a different member country hosts a music festival, the World New Music Days (WNMD). The Canadian section is responsible for distributing the associated call-for-works, assembling a jury to choose 6 works to represent Canada, sending a delegate to the WNMD to participate in ISCM General Assemblies, and ongoing liaison with the ISCM.

Professional Development
The Professional Development committee is responsible for the professional development opportunities provided by the CLC. This includes: our annual PIVOT Mentorship Program, our Composer Salons, and our ongoing series of webinars. They are also responsible for coming up with new and exciting initiatives to benefit composers across Canada.
